I'm trying to reproduce a beer a my local beer pub had. They called it Dr.hopgood the bar tender said it was an Imperal Red. It had a nice red brick color 8.5% ABV and was super hoppy i think they said 89 ibu's. I found this receipe that seems close but is all grain. Any idea's on converting to steeped/exract? Any Ablquerque New Mexico brewers here that know the beer i'm talking about?

You'll need to source a Munich extract, you can't steep that and it's going to be integral to the beer. Take a look around, Jamil talks about it all the time - someone's got to sell it.

Just a guess, but I'd say that 8 lbs amber DME and follow the same hops list and schedule in 5 gallons ought to be close.
