Bourbon vs Rum thoughts

Hey guys, I was thinking of making DC's Bourbon Vanilla Porter as a Christmas/Winter warmer and it occurred to me that I'm not a huge fan of bourbon, so why not use rum? Better yet, since it's Christmas why not use spiced rum?

I've never done an 'add stuff at bottling' beer before, any thoughts on this? I'll let you all know what I went with and how it turns out.
