1) best way to keep grains, crushed or un-crushed (currently keeping flaked rye in freezer, hoping thats okay)
2) Im assuming nottingham dry can withstand a nuclear blast, but just to make sure....Ive been keeping like 3 unused packets in my closet for months, good to use?

I kept my dry yeast in a cabinet for years without any issues. But then I remembered my wifes baking yeast is in the fridge so why not keep it there? So I keep my dry in the fridge along with any smack packs. I like it too because when I open the fridge in the morning for my creamer for coffee I see the yeasties in there nice little home and smile, then I dream about brewing all day:)!
