Been studying up on distilling and it seems that since I have a 50' 1/2" SS coil installed in my HLT if I had and airtight cover for my boiling keggle I could fill the HLT with ice and water like I do to cool my wort and use the coil as the cooling coil in the installed coil in the distilling process?
My next question is do I need a copper or SS line going from the boil keggle lid to the SS coil or can I use the silicon hose I use for brewing? If I could I could just use the same quick disconnects and put a quick disconnect male fitting onto the airtight lid I fashion.
