Have you taken a FG reading and is it stable? If so, give it a taste. It gravity is stable and it tastes like beer, you are ready to cold crash.
 
Have you considered cold crashing after primary in the future and eliminate the extra transfer step to the secondary vessel? Just a thought.

Is it safe to cold crash? Seems like it.
Is 3 days good? Sure.
Do you need to cold crash? If it's clear, maybe not, but it doesn't hurt.
 
I cold crash everything. Just makes a more compact cake and easier transfer of clear beer. I generally can't wait much beyond 24-48 hours before racking. You can certainly wait longer.
 
Will cold crashing prevent sugar priming? Thought I heard somewhere that you have to force carb in a keg if you go this route, but right now I'm only set up to bottle.
 
No, there will still be enough yeast in suspension to prime. It's only if you cold condition (aka lager) for a few months that you have to re-yeast.
