I talked the talk... and now...

I won a ChipKIT (Arduino-alike) and Wifi shield in a competition at Dangerous Prototypes expressing the wish to build a web-enabled HERMS brewery.

Now it's arrived in the post -- time to get down to work! There's a lot to do, starting with getting electricity out to the garage.

So far I have a big Coleman cooler for the mash tun, a keg for the HLT/boiler, a low voltage solar pump, an electric kettle for the heat exchanger, some weldless fittings and a few miscellaneous bits and bobs.

I am planning radio-controlled thermometers (DS18B20) and PID control using these Arduino libraries. Wish me luck!

How are you going to handle wireless for the sensors?
