Hi everyone,

Just finished up by first brew day. :ban:

I used a mid-west brew kit with the Irish Red Ale. My OG was 1.042 so everything seems to have lined up...now the wait to bottling day.

Woohoo! Don't freak out when your beer does something you weren't expecting. Unless you screwed up your sanitation, (which you probably didn't if you were like everyone else here for your first brew), it will make beer. If it doesn't taste right at first put it in the closet and forget about it for a few months and try it again. This hobby is very forgiving and it is really hard to screw it up once you get the basics down.

Don't rush thru the fermentation. Reguardless of instructions wait 3 weeks before you bottle. It's hard on the first brew, but you 'll get a better beer.
