    Bottle conditioning with new yeast?

Sounds good. I'm still going to rack into the secondary, but I don't want to cold crash because I plan on giving out about half the beer in 750mL's as Christmas gifts and cold crashing would extend my carb time. I don't want anyone drinking flat beer. If it's not completely clear, so be it...

    Bottle conditioning with new yeast?

It's about to finish in the primary. I'm going to rack into the secondary on friday for 14 days, then bottle. I have 10 gallons of beer so I'll pitch a half package of S-04 along with a cup of dextrose.

    Bottle conditioning with new yeast?

Hey everyone, I was a fairly steady homebrewer for a while but had to take a couple years off while serving on active duty in the army. I recently got out and got back into home brewing. I recently did this recipe: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f65/irish-red-1st-place-hbt-comp-141086/...

Irish Red Ale Irish Red (1st place HBT comp)

I have never pitched new yeast at bottling, but this recipe calls for the yeast. I'm wondering if I should also add priming sugar or if the new yeast is sufficient.

Irish Red Ale Irish Red (1st place HBT comp)

Did anyone use priming sugar as well as pitching new yeast when bottling, or was the yeast sufficient to carbonate?

    Air Lock Question

I brewed my first AG brew on Sunday and it's in a 5.5 gallon primary fermentation bucket, I left very little air space in the bucket and it started fermenting like crazy yesterday, leaking foam out of the airlock and all over the bucket. Today when I got home the airlock was clogged with trub...

    first AG brewed yesterday.

I did my first AG yesterday and it went perfectly and I just wanted to thank everyone for all the advice they gave me to make everything go so smoothly. Did a 6 gallon batch of citrus wheat, hit all my temps, hit OG right on the mark at 1.045, my fly sparge went perfect and damn does it smell...

    First Partial Mash...help please!

I know that you not supposed to add grain during a boil as it can add tannins to the beer. I also know the pilsner malt was supposed to be put in the grain bag in the beginning with the flaked wheat, belium aromatic, flaked oats, and rice hulls, but it didn't list it and i didn't catch it until...

    First Partial Mash...help please!

Please help! I did my first partial mash today, a hoegaarden clone, and I really hope it turns out okay but i'm really worried. I was following the recipe to the T. I did a stove top partial boil, about 3/4 of the way through my 45 min boil I discoved that the ingredient list included 1.25 lbs...

Looking to build a keggle...aluminum or stainless?

Thanks for the replies, I have 2 guys in my home brew club that have aluminum sankey kegs for MLT's because they are alot lighter to move around, but if 99 percent of them are stainless i guess I don't have to worry about any of this.

Looking to build a keggle...aluminum or stainless?

I was at my first local home brewer's meeting last night and a bunch of them suggested that I get some kegs to turn into keggles for my brewpot and mash tun, however, I was also told not to use aluminum. Which used kegs, ig. commercial beers, use steel instead of aluminum for their kegs? I...
