    First Sour Beer

Making my second batch, first one was a fail. Ended up with a grapefruit smell and plaster taste after 3 month of fermentation. I did one bottle (champagne bottle) just for the fun of it to see if funkyness will evolve in 2-3 months. The way it was, It's not drinkable so I throw away my 1gal...

Why the hell can't I seem to hit my target FG with this IIPA recipe???

5 weeks in primary, did you gave the bucket a gentle swirl shake (without opening it) after 2-3 week ? This normally help my brews when the fermentation slow down. Mash Temp and your yeast type could also be it like others said

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

My brew day for this beer was June the 24th. I can now say that it's a beer that I will brew again. I mixed 60/40 pilsner grain and 2 row. Mash at 148f 1.001 final gravity The first 2 weeks after kegging it was way too green. I added a lime in my glass and it was just like Corona (my memory...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Because it will be more clean that way. Leaving more yeast, protein, hops... moving in the fermenter will take longer to clear Specially if you don't cold crash the fermenter, plus I needed the Cake for another beer. 99% of my beers are done with only a primary bucket, takes +25 days to have a...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I brewed this beer last Saturday. I screw up a little with the grain mill and ended up with less sugar (coarse crush). 1033 OG I did 50/50 2 row and pilsner Fermentation was powerful and fast, transferred to secondary Yesterday. I did not taste it but the smell was Very nice. Will make a great...

Holsten Festbock taste alike clone ?

Hello guys ! I want to make my first lager. My GF love the holsten festbock I think it's a nice beer also. I looked around and could not find any clone. I think it's more of a Altbier than a festbock but I could be wrong, If it's the case it must be a hybrid yeast. The beer is on the sweet...

    Screwed up I think :-(

I fanally bought a Hydro. OG was 1.012 Sample tasted so great that I wanted to keg the beer right away. I had to calm myself down to wait for my 3 weeks. I will keg this week end. If I use the Calculator on beersmith I get a AVB of 6.6% if my memory is right. Everything seems Good Thanks for...

    Fermentation seems to have stopped

Give the fermenter a gentle shake/swirl without opening it. That what I did when my last fermentation stopped showing sign of activity. was back bubling less than 24h later.

    Question about a Stout

I would use this recipe instead. Lighter beer I am sure it would pair well with your cherry https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f68/o-flannagain-standard-41072/

My Danby 7' cubic Tower Keezer Project

Another week end pass by, Got more work done... I think I got to the point I don't have to play with wood anymore. Only thing left to do is the installation of the tower. I am thinking drilling a 2 1/2" hole and insert a 2" PVC pipe with some insulator inside and run my hose tru some 1/2"...
