Two wet hop beers this year!

I love fresh hop beers....when done right. Too many end up tasting like grass. If you can add your hops at flameout and cool rapidly, that's the best way. I wish you luck with your two beers. I too brewed two 10 gallon batches. But I live down south of Portland near some hop farms and used 40...

    Selecting PID for chest freezer/kegerator

I am needing help picking a PID to use for my chest freezer converted into a kegerator.... I want one that will flip an SSR that turns on the freezer's condensing unit. I would like to be able to control its cycle on and off time. On for a minimum of 10 minutes. Off for a minimum of 10...

Click PLC smart enough to control all of this?

I've been looking at all of this a bit more, and have a more generalized query if someone could help. Lets say I'm using automation directs Click PLC and two momentary push button switches A and B that have individual circuits A and B respectively. What is the best way such that when I engage...

Click PLC smart enough to control all of this?

I'm looking for some perspective on this project of mine... I want to rebuild/redesign a control panel that will control every single aspect of my entire brewery. The kicker is that I want to use a PLC to replace the 48 relays I have already in place in the existing control panel. The current...

Using Auberins PIDs & timer, with Automation direct

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7c7IZPbBYZgYm96RDRpUVkxM0k/edit?usp=sharing Working on my brewery concept a little still... Currently my "Automation" uses pids and timers from auberins along with way too many latching relays. The system must have 40 relays in all in it, and the "logic" is...

    red lion controls

No, don't get me wrong. I like the looks of it, but I built logic into way to many relays that switch and latch, and every once in a while, they just get stuck and the whole entire panel needs to be turned on and off. It's just real finicky with everything and that's what I'd like to change.

    red lion controls

My control panel sucks. I layed out a bunch of switches, relays, and momentary latching switches, and everything works fine, but the behavior of the switches and relays I'm unhappy with as they lock up and need to have the power cut off every once in a while and then restarted... I was...

Show us how you mounted your control panel

Oh, it's just been an ongoing project for a few yeas ago I started back when I saw kals design. Still not operational. Specs: 1.5bbl finished product (there is a stand-alone glycol jacketed fermenter you might see in the back ground), three compartment tank (mash tun up on top, water tank in...

Show us how you mounted your control panel

Entire different approach, used 4" TCs and fittings to mount directly to tank.

New brew rig for my bro, help with heat shields

Late at getting back to this, but those tippy dumps are used for cleaning purposes. I went ahead with the plans and have since finished e/t. I haven't had a chan e to get it across two states to where my brother lives yet so I get to test fire if hopefully next weekend. Pics for sure

LG 3-md-hc problem with two pumps

Oh man, I see the problem... the head assembly is not aligned with the pump motor. When i was building my stand, it tipped over at one point and I now realize that the pumps took the impact. That sucks... So it just looks like the mount is bent a bit. If I can get the heads off then I think...

LG 3-md-hc problem with two pumps

I need some help figuring out what's wrong with my two new pumps. I bought them both from PexUniverse online. They shipped brand new. When I power them both up, they just hum. The fan in the back doesn't spin, neither does the magnet. I removed the head assembly to look at the magnet, and...
