    Imperial Stout kit

I've been very happy with the Brewer's Best Irish Stout and Russian Imperial Stout kits. They also both worked great for making coffee stouts.

    Fermentation going nuts

My IPA went crazy today as well. Ended up having to cut the top off a one piece airlock and attaching my siphon hose to it for a blow off. Thinking about it now I might have tried finding a pen or something else with the right diameter and rigged that up.

This fermentation is so violent it should be rated R...

:D Yes, it is... It's a clunker, I work in IT so the basement is full of them... (I was looking at the brew kettle box, but I use it to shield the carboy from daylight. It was more valuable than the broken computer :D).

This fermentation is so violent it should be rated R...

Pitched a Brewer's Best IPA kit around 11PM Friday, been battling with it all day today :D. Luckily it waited for me to wake up and check on it. The three piece airlock was full of krausen and lid of the bucket was bulging. Popped the lid and quickly mixed some more iodophor and cleaned and...

    Show Us Your Label

Shamelessly scanned in the label from the can and did a few tweaks. Still happy how this quick and lazy batch turned out. (Cooper's Bitter, 3lbs light DME, 1oz Cascade for aroma and Nottingham yeast.)

    Air bubble in glass carboy

Sorry to bump my own post. Bottled that batch over the weekend, washed out the carboy and brought it back to the LHBS; They were very cool and swapped it out without any problems. (And I ended up buying stuff in the process ;-). --I'm sure it probably would have been fine, I just kept...

    Air bubble in glass carboy

Was just checking out my ESB batch in my new 5 gallon carboy. I didn't notice when I bought it, but there is an air bubble sandwiched in the glass. It's about a half by one eighth inch oval shape. Should I be worried about it? Would one trapped bubble be normal? I saw another thread on...

By God, I love fermentation! (Just a joy of brewing thread)

I'm only three batches in, but it is very reassuring to see a bubbling airlock the next day! (I do like the idea of a primary window. Might be worth buying an extra lid for modding purposes...)

Was given an old no boil kit...

Some thread necro here... Finally got around to bottling this one. It ended up getting racked to a secondary and then took a backseat to a Irish Stout kit... OG was 1.057 and FG was 1.012 (went from one extreme to the other instruction-wise.) Took pre-bottling taste test: It's...

Was given an old no boil kit...

Well, just mixed it up in the primary tonight. Smelled and looked fine coming out of the bag. OG was correct according to the instructions. (1.056) Might be an amusing distraction while waiting for the first batch to bottle condition...

Was given an old no boil kit...

Hi everyone on my first post, I just botted my first batch Friday night (an all LME amber/wheat for simplicity.) I'm already wanting to kick off a second batch, just to keep the homebrew flowing. :mug: A coworker that used to brew heavily a few years ago gave me an old Barons no boil...
