Just got an email. IPA winner (Beth G) won overall best of show.

Judging happened at multiple sites. I sent my Barleywine in to Colorado. Other's FL. I believe the IPA category was judged by F.O.A.M members. The best in show was basically the winner of all the categories and judged by a "celebrity" panel. I witnessed the second place best of show panel...

Frey's is a newer farm brewery. Not sure about what they submitted though. As for the bacon it was being served up by people. They just couldn't meet the demand fast enough.

ha! I did the same thing. Asked for score sheets and a list of all the winners.

Thank you sir. It was my first entry in a competition. Not sure I'll do it again though. I just wanted to see what feedback would look like on one of my favorite brews, even if it was over two years old.

Went Saturday with a group and back on Sunday for the Strong Ale announcement. Didn't even place but oh well. Saturday actually wasn't too bad once we got in and worked our way around groups of people that wouldn't move out of the way of the taps once they go their beer. Getting in though...

Thanks both of you. I just tried some of the starter after it sat in the fridge for a few hours. It taste kind of sour. Think I might ditch it and try again. Yea I'm gonna have to go to a 5L flask. The 2L is just too small for 10g batches. Again thanks for the replies!

So Uh I made a 2L yeast starter with Wyeast 3068 that got out of hand in a hurry. Been making starters for years now and this never happened to me. Going to have to make another stir plate since the cigar box I used is covered in goop. At some point in the last 12 hours it lost it's lid...

Same here. I'm not one to compete, but I'm curious as to comments on the barelywine I did so I entered it. I didn't realize we could drop off to flying barrel now.
