Interesting. I always unplug mine when not in use because it is a parasitic electrical draw and we tend to get a lot of brown outs and I'm afraid of frying something.
I'm switching from heating to cooling tonight so I am going to try to remember and test this behavior.
Is anyone else concerned about the lack of a ground prong on the cord that goes into the wall outlet? I'd be worried about not having a properly grounded fridge or freezer.

That's cheaper than when I built mine from scratch. Is it a dual stage controller? I see two outlets but can't tell from the broken english. Also, seeing the cord does not have a ground on it. Might be a problem for some.
I did a 5 gallon batch in a 7.5 gallon kettle and this is how close I was to the top at the start of the boil on a red ale. I have since purchased a 10 gallon kettle. Not doing that again.
