    11 gal fermentation CO2 production

Thanks! CO2 is one thing. To purchase more CO2 I will have to drive 90 miles round trip, using approx. 4 gal of gasoline and about 2 1/2 hours of my time. It will be worth it for me. :)

    11 gal fermentation CO2 production

I ferment 11 gal of wort in a Speidel 60L fermenter. I am wondering if enough CO2 would be created by fermentation to purge (2) 5 gallon sanitized cornies of oxygen. I envision collecting the CO2 via tubing to liquid out of corny #1 with a jumper from corny #1 gas in to liquid out of corny #2...

How many corny kegs do you have?

Yes I did run out after 14 months. I age some of my brews for 6 months or more. Right or wrong I found it more cost effective to buy more kegs rather than adding more refrigeration and taps.

How many corny kegs do you have?

I have bought 22 over the years. The first 8 I bought were $20 each. The last 2 I bought were brand new for $69 each. At one point 2 years ago I had all 18 I owned filled, 4 of which on tap, and (2) 10 gal batches ready to keg. Hence the need to buy more. I had a 18 month brewing hiatus...

Danstar London ESB Dry Ale Yeast - Anyone use it yet?

I brewed the pre-prohibition porter recipe (Old Hound Dog) from the most recent Zymurgy issue and used this yeast. I scaled the recipe up to 11 gal to the fermentors. 1) I did 2 separate rehydrations and for both and this is the first dry yeast I ever re-hydrated that totally rehydrated...

    Utility sink in basement

You would need to make sure it was just water and no solids of any kind going to the sump pit. Otherwise, change out the sump pump for an affluent type pump used in ejector pits that can handle solids.

    Help Choosing an RO System

Amen to that The Culligan salesman said their units are 40% efficient. You put 6 gals down the drain for every 10 gal you filter. A deal killer for me.

    Blichmann Boilermaker G2

I sent a question to Blichmann Engineering regarding G1 20 gal kettle false bottom compatibility. They said the 20 gal G1 false bottom IS NOT compatible with the same capacity G2 kettle but the 20 gal G2 false bottom IS compatible with the same capacity G1 kettle. The G2 must have a smaller...

Beer with most easily removed labels

In Chicago area, Two Brother's Brewing labels must be applied with epoxy!! Soaking them overnight in hot oxyclean didn't loosen them a bit. Straight to the recycle bin with them
