Fermenting w/ blow-off tube first vs airlock immediately

Yea I made the mistake of throwing an airlock on immediately and it clogged in like 3 days, switched it to blow off and its fine now. I also was using the same set up at you, glass 1 gal carboy. Live and learn.

First Brew Results - Delicious but Cloudy

Looks good! Better head than my first batch. Being patient sucks but I gave mine another week in bottles before cracking the first and it helped. Waiting on a Heady Topper clone now, cheers!

Liquid Malt Extract v.s. Dry Malt Extract

    What’s everyone brewing?

    What’s everyone brewing?

    What’s everyone brewing?

Just finished off the beers from my first kit. Pale Ale with Chinook hops. Brewing a double IPA kit tomorrow with a buddy. Not sure about the kit tho, says to add priming sugar to boil. Oh well, we'll see how it turns out. (It came with drops for bottling)

    New to brewing

Hey everybody, I'm Bill from Virginia. Definitely not new to beer but just got into brewing. First batch was a pale ale kit I had lying around, cracked my first one yesterday. Far from great but good enough to get me hooked! Looking forward to learning more! Cheers!
