I usually use maple. But one I brew my Brutus smoked irish ale I make a paddle out of oak and. Scorch it everytime I stick it in my mash to get a nice smoke flavor. Red oak taste better than white oak in my opinion
Yea I've accidentally put seamen in one of my batches. The hops covered up the seamen smell and taste. It was good beer. Happy brewing. If you did mess it up you can drink it real fast and get real drunk so you can start again
Just started brewing and I've got a total of 10 gallons of 3 different brews. All taste great ! Just wandering since I've been drinking my own beer I've notice my farts and ****s are real stinky. Is this normal does everyone notice this or does my body need to adjust to this wonderful brew
I heard to make Belgian candy is regular sugar and lemon juice. I might make my own. The long you cook it the lighter it gets. Starts off black then turns to red then clear. Very cool
Congrats I'm bout to do my first all grain in about a month when I save up money for a mash tun and mill. I've been using extracts. But I still do gravity reads to see how strong my beer is.
Would ventilation (like exhaust fans) be enough cooling if not what type of cooling would I need. And each fermenter will be partitioned off so I would think a fan in each one would be enough to keep the hot air out
im going to build a cabinet to hold my fermenter's and eq. and i drew something up and wonder if you guys had any suggestions.
it should hold 3 fermenters inside the cabinets and 2 on top it has 2 drawers above the bottom doors. i got the staggered look for easy siphoning
