    Zythos Pale Ale: where's the hops?

    I actually brewed an ipa with this hop, using about 3.5 oz in the last 15 minutes of the boil, and dry hopped with 2 oz as well. I also was not impressed with the hop character. It just seemed to lack the fresh hop flavor that im used to with my other beers. I actually ended up dry hopping again...

    Why do guys make their first all-grain so complicated?

    I think its more important to brew a beer that you have brewed successfully using extract as your first ag. In this way you can compare the two to see how the process changes certain aspects of that particular beer. If you try a new recipe and its not very good, it becomes difficult to nail down...
