    How old are you? (Poll)

I'm 21, almost 22 and I have only been brewing for 11 months, however I had made barley and hop drinks which were contaminated with yeast, which then made me feel funny ;) No clue what that could have been....

    Never Forget, Never Forgive

A decade ago The United States of America was the victim of a brutal attack by terrorists. In the 10 years that have passed, the world has changed greatly. Terrorism is the single greatest threat to our world at this time, regardless of race, religion, creed or location on the Earth. In the...

    Quick Hop storage question

The hops will blend in the beer... nothing wrong with giving them a head start

Blending already bottled beer with fresh, uncarbonated beer

How long has your spruce beer been sitting? If it takes up to a year for it to be good I would save at least 1/2 a case and let it sit for that long. I think blending it is not a bad idea, however if it was me, I would mix it with some commercial beers, see what tastes right, and write down...

Too many hops for the recipe?

Do they also ask for a 1/2 oz addition at another time, say at 60 min? or 10min or 5min? I have never ordered a kit from AHS but normally most places don't give you extra hops. I would read the instructions again.

    Overcarbonated

You can empty the beer into a bowl or some other large container that holds many several times the volume of the bottle, stir with a spoon, and when the carbonation is at a tolerable level pour it into a glass. Or you could just use the beer in cooking, chili, beer-cheese soup, marinade, etc.

Confusion about bottle carbing and temps

I have never had a beer over-carbonate after warming up, from 70 to at least 95, when my air conditioning went out this summer. However, it is my understanding for long term storage it is best to keep the beer at a constant temperature. Personally i can never let a beer age for more than 6...

    Antivirus software - whose?

McAfee sucks. I had an extremely terrible experience with them recently(that was the most recent edition of total Protection) I went to a free it service on my campus and the guy there helped me get a nasty virus off that 1. McAfee did not detect the virus. 2. Their virus removal "experts"...

    Mold on outside of fermenter

I wouldn't worry, recently I had mold growing in my airlock, however the beer was totally fine.
