What dunkelweizen recipe do you use? I love that style of beer, I tried the Northern Brewer Recipe Kit but I was incredibly disappointed with it.
I would be happy to brew this style again if I could find a better recipe.
My first stout was brewed a few days prior to me going out of town for a week. I used a 3/8" blow off tube that got clogged the night before I left and I was woken up to the sound of a gunshot. I checked my brew-closet and there was beer splattered on the ceiling and krausen foaming out the...
Each to his own. Though I enjoy the full-gambit of beers, everything from IPAs to fruity beers. They all have their place and I can appreciate them for what makes them unique.
I am making a Vanilla Milk Stout and I need to use some vanilla beans. I found a store nearby that sells Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla beans. Are these a good option to use? Or is there a particular type of vanilla bean that should be used instead?
Octang - When I was in high school I liked cars and I needed an internet handle... so I thought "Octane" would be a great handle... however I sucked at spelling and "Octang" was born....

I have learned that I enjoy heavy beers, particularly stouts, since I began brewing my own beer. Recently I have really begun exploring the various variety of stouts and I love to compare my creations to commercial varieties.
What have you learn about beer, or your appreciation/view of it...
My beer is now ready to drink today: It is very "OK". Then again, I am not a huge pumpkin beer fan... but still, I've had a few other pumpkin beers, and I was hoping for something a little different.
If I were to tweak this recipe, more spices would be added.
I would love your critiques and other comments!
"Adam's Apple" is a batch of Apwelwein that I am brewing for my friends Adam and Ashley to celebrate Ashlee's pregnancy. I'm going to give it to them after she gives birth. I thought the name was appropriate.
I'm a little torn. Part of me is happy to see BMC push some different styles of beer... hopefully expanding the market for "good" beers.
Yet I am also sad because I don't like seeing BMC encroaching on the craft market.
