20# CO2 tanks - what to do with them?

Grind off all of the pepsi markings and bring them to hbar in Milwaukee! They will cert and fill them for about 30 dollars. Great place minus being in a bad part of town.

Will a propane grill boil wort?

We tried to use a grill on our first batch with absolutely no success. I think a small stove would have done better. We were only working with 3 gal also. Get a turkey fryer or use the stove! That's my advice. But then again you wont know till you try.

    New Glarus - Moon Man

Moon man is a great beer! Deb Carey told me Dan started with spotted cow as a base and dry hopped about 100 different small samples to come up with the hop profile. I would suggest using Moon Man as a style guild line rather then clone. Dry hop the heck out of a medium body lower IBU light...

    Burned mash smell??

What kind of controller are you using? Can you provide details on the controller settings? 5 gallon batch? Pictures? I built a RIMS system with a CPVC manifold and a small RIMS heater. I had burning issues batch after batch. See pictures at www.nollerbrewing.com If you feel you have good...

Re-pitch yeast after use in beer with burnt wort taste

OOO let me count the ways... 1. My manifold slots couldn't keep up with wort flow and I had air in the heater/stuck sparge. 2. The heater has a relatively small power/surface area ratio. 3. My PID settings were causing the heater to jump the temp up to fast. 4...... ect That is just a small...

Re-pitch yeast after use in beer with burnt wort taste

Thanks! I think I will rinse the yeast to help protect from flavor transfer even more. I will post my results. Mark

Re-pitch yeast after use in beer with burnt wort taste

I would like to start off by thanking everyone who post on HBT! I have learned so much in the last year and a half and I can contribute most of what I know to this forum. I'm still working the bugs out of my new RIMS system and recently burnt a couple of batches. The good news is my last two...

need an online site to order from..

More beer is out on the west coast and has flat rate shipping. Northern Brewer also has great products with flat rate shipping. You might wait one extra day for northern because they are located in Minnesota.
