Went to use the web profile editor yesterday and it wouldn't work. Is it being worked on? No biggy, just a nice way to verify my settings! Thanks! Casey B.

That did it! I guess the strange reading was not exactly current Celsius, just sort of close. Should that still appear if Pb2 is "0"? Just wondering! Thx!

Correct, no second probe, but it's somehow reading the correct temp, just in Celsius! I will try that as soon as I get home, thanks!

Thanks for all the hard work on this!!! One question: When I first supply 110v, the display reads in Fahrenheit (that's the version I flashed), but when turning on the unit with the button from a "soft off", it then reads in Celsius. Am I missing a setting or should I reflash? Thx, and Merry Xmas!!

Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker - Walker's Reserve

It turned out really well. I did notice that I got a slight bubblegum ester from the yeast (WLP002). I followed the fermentation temps from the show, and I made a starter using the Mr.Malty yeast calculator. FW's beer is a little more "rich" than mine, not sure why yet. I was thinking maybe...

BJCP Exam Tips - LONG post

The BJCP guidelines are only a way to categorize and catalog the world's beer styles, not rules to follow. I think they help people learn and dial in the very critical aspects of brewing. I think of them as sort of "lessons" to follow. I think it's good to be skilled enough to brew the same beer...

Can you Brew It recipe for Firestone Walker - Walker's Reserve

Something that wasn't noted in the recipe: JP did use 1 oz of oak chips, but he brewed 10 gallons. I just brewed it and I added .5 oz. of oak chips to my 5.5 gallons in the fermentor. I'll report back, smells great!!

It's called the Sandlot, it's where Blue Moon was first brewed.

Bristol Brewing Co. Compass IPA - help me clone it!

Anyone have any luck brewing this? I emailed the brewer, the percentages and yeast are "secrets"...hehe. I'm guessing that recipe earlier in the thread is really close...there is a ton of crystal in this. It's got a lot of residual sweetness. And I'm sure it's 1056.

Can you Brew It recipe for Nebraska Brewing Cardinal Pale Ale

I verified this with Tasty yesterday (4-7-2011)....the recipe was mistakenly given for 5 gallons, not the usual 6. That's what's throwing people off. There will probably be an on-air correction and a correction to the archive. Proper recipe for 6 gallons (adjusted/reposted...notice hops as well...

BJCP Exam Tips - LONG post

Sorry if this was covered, but can you gain points after you are awarded, and be bumped up? Like if I get "Recognized" with a score of 70 (above the needed 60), then get 5 experience points, do I just notify the BJCP and get bumped up to "Certified", or do I have to retake the exam? Thanks!
