Heh. While that is an amusing image, I just divide a packet of dry in half for a one gallon batch. Much easier to measure and the beer turns out great.

Tonight I'm drinking a New Glarus Laughing Fox. We were a stone's throw from Wisconsin this weekend so of course we hopped the border on a beer run. Laid in a supply of Fat Squirrel and Spotted Cow too.

Bottling party. Everyone that helps gets to take home a mix and match six pack.

Drank some home brew. And realized some of the longnecks I wanted to save are useless because they use twist-off caps. Oh well.

Having one our brown ales from the first batch we ever did. At six weeks out, it's a lot better than it was at about three weeks when we tried the first ones - has more body and depth. Pretty good.

Sorted through the bottles we're saving and got rid of the short neck ones - we've finally accumulated a fairly decent quantity of longnecks that are all about the same. I'm totally OCD so mismatched bottles just doesn't sit right with me. And I updated my profile info here.

I had some pinot grigio with dinner earlier, but now I'm finishing a bottle of sparkling water. Husband brought home a case of Shiner Wild Hare, so that's on the docket for tomorrow.

That is an enviable brew day, sir.

At that price, it would be sacrilege for you not to. They're at least four times as much here right now.

Both of those sound really good to me... I'm feeling some jealousy right now. Incidentally, I'm having a (second) glass of pinot grigio - this hot, humid weather has me on a bit of a wine kick. I can pretend I'm lounging on a Mediterranean island getaway when I drink wine...

Well yeah, that's why I get on here too. :-) I'm a bookworm at heart though, so any excuse to get a book is usually a good one for me. YES! We're doing the next batch BIAB for sure - pouring hot wort through a small, flimsy strainer while your baby freaks out because being on the other side...

I did get around to brewing my first batch - the brown ale from the book. Turned out pretty good, but a little thin. Definitely need to circulate the wort through the grain a bit better next time - didn't have the right sized mesh sieve, so it was a bit of a hassle to strain in batches - and I...

I shouldn't have read this thread until we're fully moved into the new place. We are currently without grill/smoker and all of these goods are making me hungry for some pulled pork and smoked ribs!

Closed out a bottle of chardonnay - but what I really had a taste for was a Belgian ale. Got to put that on the to-brew list.
