I'm kinda short (5'6") so I had the same problem with having to really reach to get to the bottom of the chest freezer. I don't have any problems just carrying the carbon, but I would always have a sore back after lifting one in or out of the chest freezer. So I built a frame on wheels that...

I also use a two stage temp controller...but I use a thermowell for the probe so i'm measuring the wort itself instead of the air and i use a brew belt on the carboy to heat it.

Just read that manual...i'm gonna give up my 50' too...for the same reason (also slightly embarrassing). Sorry...

I just made one...I thought I needed a stronger magnet than the commercial stir bar (it kept getting thrown on my last starter despite 2 pots bothed turned down). So I put a hard drive magnet inside a piece of tubing and sealed the ends with food-grade silicone. I'm gonna try it out tonight...

Nilo, In your last batch it seems like you have significantly upped the amount of orange peel while keeping the now lower amount of corriander. Was the orange flavor much more pronounced? And is the curacao orange peel the same as bitter orange peel? Thanks!

Sounds like a great recipe! I know its been addressed before, but have the bottlers in the group tried fermenting for 10 d then crash cooling to 39 in the primary for 4 d then bottling? Would I have problems with carbonation? Thanks!

My typo... I wired it correctly with 1 and 3 for input one and 2 and 3 for input 2. I tried two different temp probes with the same result. Finally ended up using a different temp controller -- https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/ebay-aquarium-temp-controller-build-163849/ was only 30 bucks...
