Flying Dog "The Truth" official 5 gallon recipe!

I have not had that one, but if you email the brewery and ask for the recipe, he'll get back to you. I met him in 2009 on a brewery tour. He likes home brewers. Just maybe schmooze him with how much you love the beer.

Flying Dog "The Truth" official 5 gallon recipe!

On my first six pack, I got a huge pine aroma. I'm talking Christmas tree in the car huge. It was awesome. I just had my sister in law bring me a six pack from Frederick, MD yesterday and it had less pine and a bit more fruit (Citra), more like what I ended up with. Both are exceptional, though.

sorry for getting back to you so late. It came out very nicely. I just did a 2 gallon batch. I didn't get the pine aroma, mostly fruit. Did you try it? What'd you think?

    Citra IPA recipe feedback

If I were you, I'd just use two packs of Safale US-05. It's a great yeast to use for IPAs, it's way cheaper than Wyeast, and you can just sprinkle it in, no starter required. You can, it won't hurt. I actually just brewed a quick extract IPA a month ago and it finished higher than I would...

Priming calculators all say different things

I hate over carbonated beer as well. I, however, use Northern Brewers calculations and have had perfectly carbonated beer since. Everything from my ESB to Imperial IPA have all turned out perfectly carbonated to style.

    Hydrometer is Possessed?

I believe he is saying that he already corrected for the miscalibrated hydrometer. This is a pretty good possibility. Happened to me before.:mug:

    Green Tea beer recipe

If you email the good people at Two Brothers Brewing, they'd probably give you some info. They're known to give recipes to homebrewers. I, myself, have gotten a recipe from them myself.

    Green Tea beer recipe

Two Brothers in Warrenville, IL has a Green Tea IPA. It's delicious. It's called Laughing Panda. You wouldn't believe it, but you can definitely pick up the subtle green tea notes in it. It's delicious!

    IPA recipe critique

Thanks everyone. I think I'll throw in some Chinook to get that pine and maybe I'll cut back on the Citra in dryhop and maybe substitute what I cut back with some Chinook.

If you like the new Flying Dog Imperial IPA and want to brew it yourself, good news! I emailed the head brewer and he was gracious enough to give me a recipe. Here it is: Hey Justin, Glad you got a chance to try The Truth! I can certainly help you out with a recipe so you can create it at...

    IPA recipe critique

Just curious... Doesn't Citra give you piney aroma with fruity notes as an afterthought, or are they kind of equal?

    IPA recipe critique

Thanks, boydster. So, head retention can come by way of Crystal malts as well. So many variables so little time, haha. You don't think that there may be too much going on in the hop department?
