Saved myself $70 on a beer gun!

Had to share. Put a small piece of vinyl tubing on my bottle filler, shoved it up into the Perlick, made sure the pressure was super low (no more than 5psi), opened her up, and it filled just like from a bottling bucket. A bit of foam, but nothing to worry about. I don't ever see a need to...

    Homebrewtalk Carboy Cleaner Giveaway

...because an object like that hooked to a power tool...and an SWMBO...could clean up a lot more than a carboy! Well, nevermind the "clean up" part there... absolutely nothing clean about that! Still could use an easier way to clean a carboy though...

Random Post, But Had to Share Somewhere!

I'm not near my software, but stone's website has homebrew versions of a lot of their Epic Vertical series on their site. I just played with it in beersmith until the numbers were close. If I can I will post a recipe soon.

Random Post, But Had to Share Somewhere!

I brewed a clone of Stone's Epic Vertical 02.02.02, two weeks ago, and after having tasted a young, flat sip today... I had to toot my own horn. I am already quite happy with how it's turning out. Its lightly phenolic, but not overpowering, with a hint of the orange and coriander in there. I...

PSA: Clean the lid cut before doing any more work.

That definitely makes me wary of cutting kegs anytime soon... Which has been planned for awhile now. I am now (after seeing this) considering using something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Steel-Spring-Opening-Protection-Material/dp/B002SJS2PQ around the openings of the keggles. I...

    DIY Fermenter Cleaner

I say the best thing to do is test it out (if can be done without too much expense) and see what happens... Take LOTS of photos and/or video footage, and post them on here for everyone to see. You never know, you may have the next great DIY project that EVERYONE has to copy, or it might be too...

The Beer Captured book and sparging specialty grains?

Maybe it's just me and being an efficiency nerd (I'm sure with steeping grains, efficiency is the last thing to worry about), but I even squeeze every last drop of water I can back out of them. It never hurts to get the most sugars you can! :D

    $100 Sanke Keg

I am sure LOTS of people here would agree that a $30 deposit on a keg does not mean you own the keg. That keg still belongs to the brewery, and theft is something no one wants to see (especially if the idea came from this forum). Just throwing that out there. There has to be a better way.

What if you could only brew 1 more batch?

I'm just curious to see what people would brew if they knew they could only brew one more batch of beer/wine/mead/whatever you deem fit to brew... etc. I'm by no means only brewing one more batch, just a random question that came to me... Thanks! :tank: Edit: Looking for something more...

    Redwood Electric Rig

I'm very impressed by this setup! I live in a 1br apartment, and I'm looking to build an electric rig with a small footprint that will still allow keggles. I will be making a 240v switcher box to shut off power to my stove while using that power on the rig. Not sure exactly what I'm planning...
