    Book Recommendations

I consider myself an intermediate brewer. I am BIAB brewer, but I understand more complicated methods of brewing. Does anyone have a good recommendation for books that would bring a beginning brewer to a higher level intermediate brewer, or that would bring an intermediate brewer to a lower...

Texas Son of a Fermentation Chiller - $25

Private message me your location. I live in North Dallas and depending on your availability, I would love to take this off your hands. I don't guess you have any carboys you need to get rid of, do you?:mug:

    Carboys in Dallas, TX?

I recently lost a carboy to a glass malfunction. (It shattered into 3 pieces.) I normally buy carboys from disgruntled brewers on Craigslist, but no one in DFW seems to be selling online right now, or at least they aren't selling anything below NIB retail prices. Before I go to my LHBS, I...

    American IPA Coconut IPA

Oh man. This sounds great. I have been trying to come up with a coconut IPA recipe for the hot Texas summer and nonexistent autumn. This gives me some great ideas! Thanks for posting!

Broken Glass Carboy Horror Stories Compendium

I fell victim to something similar this weekend. I had the most perfect brew of a blonde ale that I was going to rack onto some strawberries in the secondary. The brew went amazingly well. I had just finished my clean-up, and I was moving the carboy to a closet to ferment. I sit the carboy down...

    Fruit Beer Wild Strawberry Blonde

WildGingerBrewing, curious about your thoughts to my question?

    Fruit Beer Wild Strawberry Blonde

So I'm thinking about following this recipe but lowering the amount of Cascade hops at 60 mins to make it cream ale... How do y'all think that would taste? Would the lower hops and IBU make the strawberries overpowering? I haven't tried the original so I can't picture how this would taste...

    AG or BIAB?

Flattery will get you everywhere. I may have to buy a bag from you now.

    AG or BIAB?

I've been doing BIAB for a few years now, and I have no intentions of switching. After a few months of tinkering with my system, I have a few tips that have worked for me and increased my efficiency: 1) Always mill your grains twice. 2) The following process is for a 5-6 gallon starting boil...

Off Flavors From Lager Temperature Fluctuations???

I didn't make it that far. I ended up not being adventurous and doing an ale.

Off Flavors From Lager Temperature Fluctuations???

Yeah. I suppose the garage would work. I just worry about it getting slightly too warm in the garage, but I am not certain that it would. I may not lager. I was just excited that I had a temperature range that would allow it.

Off Flavors From Lager Temperature Fluctuations???

Yeah. I suppose the garage could be better. I'm definitely brewing this weekend, and I haven't decided if I want to use lager yeast yet. So I may bypass lagering. I was just excited that the temperature would allow it for once.

Off Flavors From Lager Temperature Fluctuations???

Since I don't have a refrigerator devoted to my fermenters, I've only brewed ales. I live in Dallas and just checked the 10 day forecast. It looks like the weather is going to stay in perfect lager temperature range (as opposed to the 75 degree days that we normally get around Christmas). I was...
