with that float switch it's best if you use low voltage (it can only handle .5a of electricity) to activate a 120v relay. It says it can handle 120v but the low amperage worries me. I want to wire a valve to shut off the water my to brew kettle when it reaches the volume of water I want. I'm...
I tried making a double batch of hefeweizen by brewing a condensed 5 gallon batch, splitting it between 2 fermenters, adding enough water to each to bring them up to 5 gallons. The problem is when splitting the wort. One ended up with a higher beginning gravity than expected, the other was...
One of my son-in-laws is a Lions fan. He has a hat with the Lions logo on it. One of my grandsons thinks it looks like a buffalo so he calls him Uncle Buffalo Head.
You said the CO2 tank went down in a short time. Sounds like a leak. Don't know of anything that would cause a substantial CO2 loss except a leak. Spray some sanitizing solution around all the fittings to find the leak. I've read the other options but I'm a firm believer in the KISS theory of...
When there's a leak check the gaskets.
I've had problems with my perlicks leaking where the handle comes out of the body. Fortunately I've been able to fix the problem by just replacing both of the gaskets. 2 of the 3 times nobody noticed until a fair amount of beer was lost. I figure I'll just...
I have 2 FFs bought at different times and I can't switch out the unions with the collection ball between them. The unions seem to be 2 different sizes, or have different size threads. Haven't really investigated it because it makes to difference to me. They both work.
I ruined 2 SSR's. One because I didn't realize it didn't come mounted with thermal paste and one I believe was because I mixed up the input and the output for the heating element. Or maybe it was counterfeit. Went with auberins SSR, wired it correctly and have had no problems.
I've tried Fast Pitch but the cans it comes in are so thin I've had 2 out of the 4 leak on me. Since I would boil any water I use a dry mix would interest me.
I had the same problem but I got a double stainless steel sink from a restaurant/bar owning friend who couldn't use it (he had to use a triple), and bought a cheap two handled high spout faucet. I also bought a couple of FDA approved 2' sanitary water hoses to hook up to the new faucet (they're...
Forgot to mention I also attached a sheet of very fine sandpaper to a piece of glass with spray adhesive and sanded the top of my FF so the lid seals down better.
Use a contactor. And put it at the beginning of your circuit as it comes into your box, not before the outlet. Then you have more options to shut off the 240v before it fries your controllers. There's a lot of info on this site on accomplishing this but you might be better off bribing a friendly...
