Your experience with yeast bay belgian dry ale yeast

I used this strain several times late last year/early 2015. It's an attenuation monster, never once did I see less than 90% attenuation, except in an imperial stout I did with an OG of 1.144 (after some staggered sugar additions) that hit 17% ABV (best guess based on ABV calcs). I kept the...

    Grainfather Kickstarter

For anyone looking for another shot of the boil, this is with 6.8 gallons in the boiler, with an hour left in the boil. I went on to yield a little more than 5.5 gallons in the fermenter after transferring. http://youtu.be/clNuDkG0sS0

Watched your vid, the boil looks fine to me at around 11:12 and on. Not rip roaring, but it seems to have a clear roll. Your blog says your volume pre-boil was 7.75 gallons, right?

I'm as antsy as anyone, but if I had to guess, Janis probably took some time off last week after wrapping the competition up. Patience is not always my greatest virtue, but seems reasonable for a little bit longer. :D

I'm guessing that almost everyone who pre-ordered has seen this video of the US model boiling, but again, for reference, here's the link. The video doesn't seem to embed correctly but can be found at the page linked below. https://vimeo.com/nzimake

Wow, that's quite the rant, very impressive. I was skeptical of the boil-off too but after showing the video that was posted on the Kickstarter page to several folks in my HB club who said it looked sufficient, I relented that I was obsessing over a detail. With the kettle geometry, I'm...

    NHC 2015 - Registration Open

If anything happened (let's hope not) I'm guessing a bottle exploded. My package got on a truck on Thursday in Chicago and wasn't unloaded until last night, which means it spent some considerable time in the desert heat. I did ziploc bag the bottles twice and put everything in a garbage bag...

Michigan was better for me last year too.. since I live 3 miles from the brewery that was collecting the entries. :D This year I get to hope that UPS drives at night, highs are supposed to hit over 100 in AZ/NV early next week!

They are 330mL bottles (11.2oz) and will fit in a standard carrier, so there's no reason they should be disqualified.

The other option would be to send 2 of the bottles I have left that are in Duvel style bottles, which are far sturdier and would be highly unlikely to burst. But, while formally speaking you can't get marked down for sending in a non-standard bottle, I worry about perception, which could...

    NHC 2015 - Registration Open

Hopefully this isn't too off topic, but looks like shipping from the Great Lakes area for FedEx or UPS Ground is 4 days in transit. I would imagine going to San Diego, that's going to include at least a day or two rolling through the hot desert on the way there. One of my beers is a highly...
