    Desperados clone..... Hopefully

Hi! I've had a mate come back from Europe and is requesting a desperado beer! This thread is a few years back, any tips on how much tequila essence to use? Presuming I can get it from the spirit distiller shop here in NZ.. I also would use the coopers cerveza kits... Sent from my iPhone...

People that won't drink your beer...

I brew the cheap crap ... or very simple brews for my mates. They rave about the lager, or the stout etc. Don't go full hopped on them, and try if you can give em a good solid 6 month old batch. I generally (will) use my kegs this way by putting pretty standard brews in there, and I think I...

Naturally Carbonating a Keg - hand pump

So a mate works in a gun shop, he gave me a deal on a 20oz refillable ($7) Co2 tank, and a ... stretchy quick connect (for paintball obvioulsy) with on/off gas line which I now only need to find a double ended female thread to put on my keg coupler and stretchy gas line. $100 usd all up so not...

Difference between a cask and keg

Yeah obviously camra rules don't apply (or interest) me. Interesting tho that the uk pubs that have real ales on tap prob don't put co2 back in the cask. And they clearly won't finish a cask/keg in a few days. 2 weeks if you are lucky surely depending on the pub?

Difference between a cask and keg

Hmm it looks like a lot of work to make my standard 'sanke' keg into a cask with a breather spile etc...

Difference between a cask and keg

But what is the hand-pull beer engine replacing into the keg when it's being pulled? Natural air? Isn't this bad for the beer for tomorrow or next week? (having a bit of a discussion in another thread about my keg set-up with a handpump, where necessary but the natural carbing method lasts for...

Naturally Carbonating a Keg - hand pump

Ah I guess looking a little more into it, new 2kg 4.5lb gas bottles are $300 USD, $500 for 10lb bottles and they go for over $120 2nd hand... Re-filling isn't too bad from what I hear, $30usd from some NZ forums. So I guess it's just biting the bullet for a Co2 tank. I am looking into the...

Naturally Carbonating a Keg - hand pump

Cheers fellas for your input. It sounds like I need to stop using the handpump for sanitary reasons, especially since we are heading into summer. I will look into the mini co2 chargers... but it seems like I will just use the natural pressure, which I think will do just fine:)
