I hook up my c02 line on top and out from the rack port into filters when I wish, then to the kegs. I really don't like the seal on this fermenter, it holds very little pressure before it leaks out the seal making for very very slow transfers..... Perhaps it just mine, not sure.
My welds and threads cam apart on the old ones, he sent me the newest ones and same thing sadly..... Had to silver solder them together then tape the can closed.

Those ones from Brewershardware seem a lot stronger. I had to silver solder mine up to keep them from blowing apart.

Darn, I thought was to use it during my whirlpool but I guess that won't happen then, perhaps I'll add the hops after the whirl pool when the wort is cool as I slowly pump over to the fermenter.

Ok so I have a Stout Tanks, I believe the 2.7gal version Hop Back, decided to use it for the first time last night and didn't go so well. I put 6oz of my home grown hops in there.... I put them in a mesh bag but after a min of pumping from my kettle for the cooling whirlpool it clogged up...
Yes i need to be careful of the boil over, my panel has a dial to control the element heat and i just work that a little until im out of the danger zone, full steam ahead after that. I also turn it down a bit during hop additions so it doesn't go over. Dont need a dip tube, it has a concave...
Thank you, I love it myself. My tanks are all 20gal units from Stout Tanks, the only thing I wish I got them to do would be to add the temp probe ports at the back instead of the front, other then that it works really well. I get 90% efficiency.
Ya im lucky my wife let me build in a portion of our basement! She doesn't even drink beer really but I'm fine with that... More for me ;)
