I just opened my first beer from my first batch, and it was amazing! I worried and freaked and all of it was for nothing. If you are on your first batch and freaking out, read some of Revvy's blogs and posts and you will quickly realize it is a patient mans hobby. Don't rush it.

I read dark and 70 F is ideal once bottled...I live in an apartment with minimal closet space...I have a spare bedroom I have the primary in but how can you keep the beer so low without constant a/c or refrigeration? any tricks?
