    Nuktap FC Lock

My old ice cream chest that was handling kegs with picnic taps finally died and I have a Komos with nukataps on the way. I was thinking it would be nice to have a way to lock the taps for piece of mind at times, but all of the locks I run into seem to mention fitting perlick or other brands...

    Flavor Threshold for Lactic Acid

Looking at my logs I have used 9ml in a 10.5 gallon kolsch on multiple occasions. I have never had the flavor come through.

    Cleveland

If you do fatheads for food, the north olmsted location has a full menu. If you are looking for a light bar menu (pizza/brat etc) and grabbing a couple of beers, their production brewery/tap house is less than 5 minutes from the airport.

    New Star San User

Looks good to me. I normally rack onto a similar amount sometimes more. Most times I get a foam "snake" coming from kegs when racking into them.

LHBS Manager Here...What Do You Want From The LHBS?

I just found out the Vine and Hop existed in Brunswick last weekend when I needed co2 and ingredients. I am in the Berea area, but the rewards program, aha discount, and great price/convenience on co2 will make that my regular go to from now on.

    Steeping grains round two?

I would assume the steeping grains are pretty much spent after steeping. Ballpark average for a 5 gallon batch using about 10 lbs of grain, at the end of the sparge to collect boil volume, runnings are less than 1.020 for me. I would assume steeping grains are typically crystal or other...

    cold steeping dark grains

I have cold steeped in the past and just used plain RO water. It seemed to do the trick and gave me the flavors/colors without astringency. Next go round on my brown ale I think I will split the cold steep into two containers and treat one then compare the flavor.

    Stuck Tap, No Pour

If you try to burp the pressure relief valve, does co2 come out? Did you happen to dry hop in this keg?

    Fly in airlock?

I would pull the airlock and clean it. Refill with sanitizer and replace.

    Bottle Bombs. Yep. Advice?

54 potentially exploding bottles that may be at varying levels of weakness ready splatter glass shards everywhere is not something I would mess with. Maybe drink a few other brews while mourning the loss and throw them at the rooster. Seriously though I would just suit up like you did and pop...

    Moved to Aurora, OH

Welcome, we are really spoiled around here when it comes to beer. I am in Berea. Homebrew club: http://www.beersnobs.org/ - I have never attended, but plan to soon. Membership gets you discounts at most of the shops around town. Homebrew shops: http://clevelandbrewshop.com/ - City of...

    "Bottle Carbing" in the keg?

I use table sugar and generally use about 2.8 ounces. 5oz might be overcarbed. You can just burp out the c02 to correct it if it is of course.

    Help with WB-06

It is still pretty young since it's only been fermenting a little over a week. I would give it at least another week if it were mine and check gravity again. I am interested in trying this yeast out again next time I do a wheat. What type of flavors and aromas are you getting and what temp...

    New Kegs

I bought a couple of the AIH kegs you linked to earlier this year, and I am happy with them. One thing I never thought about with the dual rubber handle is I let the kegs sit upside down on paper towels to drain after cleaning/rinsing and they stand on their own. Thats a big deal to me since I...

    May have a situation

+1 I always used duct tape the carboy stoppers when I used them to keep them from popping out. Realistically a piece of foil to keep out debris would be fine too.
