I figured it out. If anyone is curious, I had to add the fruit myself and not use the ingredient from the available ingredients list. When adding your own custom ingredient it gives you the option to put when you use it (eg. Secondary).
This may be a dumb question but I can't figure it out. I am making a fruit beer recipe in BeerSmith, but I cannot figure out to make the step-by-step instructions read that I wish to add the fruit to the secondary fermenter after primary. Does anyone know how to do this?
I would let the soda go flat before you add the yeast. I would have to say you would end up with a pretty disgusting alcoholic beverage. I would use a wine yeast so it's more tolerant. Only one way to find out, my friend...
Personally, whenever I used to make batches with cans like that, I would use two cans and never follow the instructions with the kits. Follow a good brew books instructions. That's just my opinion though.
Those are good ideas. I will rack off a gallon this weekend and see how it is with lactose. If that doesn't work, I'll try your other option. Thanks for the advice!
