Very true! Sorry for your loss. My wife lost her dad when she was 11. I have seen how hard it can be even at 35 for her.
Do you have any other family members that have helped make of upgrade equipment?
Well on a happy note I got this pic.
So I just wanted to start this thread to, have a place to show and talk about how your Dad or family have heled you with brewing equipment ect.
So my Dad is a welder and works at a big shop. He calls me and asks if I could use 20 inches stainless pipe. I can weld a little but not that great...
I run two 2 vessel systems. I use kegels rims setup on mash tun. The key for me is hot water. Never understood waiting for water to get hot when you have a water heater that can preheat it for you. Day before you brew turn up the water heater as high as it can go. Then your heat up time is cut...
Keged 30 gallons of beer. Cleaned all my tap lines and conections, got lines hooked to new shanks and have everything pressurizing. Cleaned fermentation vessels. Added beers to raspberry pi tap list. Also sanded down 3 wood tap handles installed inserts and hit them with linseed oil.
Ware flip flops while brewing.
Don't do that!
I had on mesh shoes and the water from my chiller shot out and burned my foot. Ever notice most brewere ware rubber boots. There is a reason.
When someone new wants to brew with you and asks if he can do 5 gallons. And every one in the group says, "No! But you can make ten! The system dosn't turn on for 5 gallons of anything."
