    YVH BRU-1 experimental hop

Love this Hop. It is fantastic paired with Citra in a Rye IPA. I have never experienced garlic/onion aromas/flavor.

    Looking for some ingredients

I use the Fawcett Oat Malt and Best Malz Spelt in my NE IPAs and they work out great for me.

    Looking for some ingredients

Do they have to be Chateau? If not, Rite Brew has Fawcett Oat Malt and Best Malz Spelt Malt. Both are very good malts in my opinion.

Has any one used the new experimental hops from YVH?

I bought at least 8 oz each of Bru-1, Genghis, Exp Tangerine, Exp Stonefruit, Green Machine, and HBC 431. Bru-1 is amazing with Citra in a Rye IPA. I have not brewed with the rest yet, but will post once I do.

    34 Degrees Latitude Hops ("rare")

I got a sampler too. Modern Times Triton Project uses African Queen and XJA/436. It is one of the best IPAs I've had in a while so I'm going to make an IPA featuring those two and one of the experimentals. It will have to be a 2.5 gallon batch because there aren't enough hops for a larger batch.

    Best SMaSH recipe you've made???

Golden Promise/Mosaic is the best SMASH I've ever done. I went with 13lbs of GP, 1oz FWH, 2oz at 15, 2oz 20 min whirlpool, and 3oz DH. I fermented low with Yeast Bay Vermont Ale.

The Yeast Bay Wallonian Farmhouse v Wyeast American Farmhouse

I love brewing 10 gal batches and then fermenting with two different yeast strains. Next up will be a Saison using Yeast Bay's Wallonian and Wyeast American Farmhouse. My grain bill will be 80% Pils, 10% flaked spelt, and 5% each of rye and wheat. I have no experience with these yeasts so I...

"Pine Fruit" hops from yakima valley hops

I did a single hop Saison with it that turned out great. I don't have the recipe with me. I'll try to remember to post it later.

    recipe diagnoses...feedback?

If you want to go a little darker (around 7-9 SRM), add a bit more complexity, but still have the hops shine, I like the following grain bill: 71.4% 2-row 14.3% Vienna 3.6% Honey Malt 3.6% CaraRed 3.6% Carapils 3.6% Turbinado Sugar

Here is a description: Honey Malt is a unique malt produced by the Gambrinus Malting Corporation, a small malting company in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada. It is made using a special process that develops distinctive flavors. The unique process puts Honey malt in the same family as German...

    recipe diagnoses...feedback?

I'm to a point where I'm staying away from Crystal malts in my IPAs. When I do a lighter color IPA, I go with: 93% 2-Row 5% Victory 2% Honey Malt

    Yeasy Bay Funktown Pale Ale

My Brett Pale is in the third week of secondary. It is down to 1.012. Gonna keg it at the end of next week.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Double brewday tomorrow. Brewing a Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 clone and an Irish Blonde.

    Yeasy Bay Funktown Pale Ale

I did a basic Pale Ale recipe (70% 2-Row, 30% Wheat, and 10% Carahell) with .3 oz Millennium @ 60 mins and 3 oz Azacca in the whirlpool. Made a liter starter and had airlock activity within 5 hours. I plan on leaving it in primary for 10 - 14 days and then transfer to secondary to see what the...
