after couple months break. I usually buy from LHBS with my recipe on hand. This time I'd like to try "recipe kit" from AustinHB.com where everything for 5 gals is included pre-calculated. Good price (surprisingly cheap), convenient...
Did anyone try these "kit" before? Would you recommend, or...
First of all, :off: , flag at will!
Secondly, since I have all the equipments for beer and my wife suggests making something non-alcohol bev. Is sparkling apple cider or juice easy to make? Should it be just apple juice in a keg and carb. it to 30 psi for couple days?
Thanks.
Until now, most people just mention light, dark, medium DME! Ignoring its manufacture! Seems like there is no reason to spend more for not much difference.
Hello all,
I've been brewing with Briess DME which I bought 6 lbs at a time from my LHBS. This time I want to try to buy and stock about 50lbs of DME. At least I can see right away, Briess DME from online is not that much cheaper than my LHBS, but DME from other manufactures like Munton & Fison...
The batch is already in a keg and carbonated. How do I add hop bitterness to it now? Boil hop with water and add it? If so, how long? Do I have other options like hop extract...? Thank you.
"Dr. Richard N. Atkins, CEO of the National Prostate Cancer Coalition, said the experiments are encouraging and "perhaps men could take it in pill form someday." "
No, no, no, no, no, no, we don't need pills.
We are fine with it in liquid form :ban:
My 6 days old primary ale had almost no airlock activity and I racked to secondary. OG was 1.052, SG at the racking time is 1.020. After the racking, there is no bubbles at all in secondary carboy! Is it stuck? If so what should I do?
It is pale ale with WLP002 English Ale yeast. Thanks.
My first ever batch got some water from the tap while I was cooling down the wort, I boiled the wort again!
However I still am surprised on the result that vast amount of people don't boil!
