Odd question concerning lymph nodes and home brew

Hey- what happens in the Dr's office, stays in the Dr's office :p

Odd question concerning lymph nodes and home brew

Dr agreed- no hernia, it's a lymph node. Currently, he's thinking Bacteria of some sort. He gave two plausable reasons. First one being- I never (or rarely) wear underwear (TMI- I know). He also (correctly) assumed that I, like most guys, wear jeans several times between washes. He said I could...

Odd question concerning lymph nodes and home brew

Heading in @3pm today to have it looked at. Hopefully it's nothing too big. I can deal with anything but cancer.

Odd question concerning lymph nodes and home brew

Maybe he was joking about the cat scratch, maybe not. However- cat scratch fever will make a lymph node swell. I, as well as my wife (a DC) are pretty sure it's a lymph node- up high, on my inner thigh. She is also thinking it's possibly a femoral hernia. I read up on it a little- the type of...

Odd question concerning lymph nodes and home brew

I figured it was pretty far fetched to assume it was the beer- especially since it (the beer) looked/tasted fine when I bottled it and after it aged for a few months. It's just odd that I feel great- aside from this third nut (nowhere near that big- just being goofy) growing out of my thigh...

Odd question concerning lymph nodes and home brew

Recently I have developed a swollen lymph node in my groin area. I've been married/with the same girl for nearly 4 years and only a couple other girls (all clean) prior to her- so I know it's not an issue of an STD. Cancer does not run in either side of my family. About a month or two ago I had...

    Cleaning glue from bottles

I've got a few Red Stripe bottles. 12oz, little short/stubby things. I will try the brillow pad idea. The scrubber I was using was just some sponge we had in the sink. Something with a little more balls behind it would probably work better. Thanks for all the tips guys!

    Cleaning glue from bottles

I tried the scrubbing method. Schlafly (local St. Louis place) comes off the best- just a little hand rubbing in hot water. I'm no stranger to a scrubbing pad, but I've got a 6 pack now that the glue refuses to leave. I am thinking of just tossing them in the recycle bin. I'm sure some sort of...

    Cleaning glue from bottles

I drink store bought beer about as much as I drink my own beer- 50/50 mix. Most all of the stuff I buy is microbrew stuff- so I always clean and reuse the bottles, rather than buying empty bottles from the HBS (hell- for a little bit more I can buy the bottles full of beer, rather than empty)...

    Question on Oak Wood Chips

we'll have to see what tonight brings. i did a brewers best porter and let it sit in the primary for 3 weeks, secondary for two weeks, then added about 3oz of jack daniel's chips that i had soaked in maker's mark for about 3 weeks, as well as the ~6oz of maker's mark that the chips soaked in-...

After bottle carbing- how to store.

What should I be doing with my beer before I drink it, but after it's sat a while at room temp/70 degrees to carbonate? Currently it's sitting in my brew room where I do all of my fermenting/racking/bottling/aging in beer boxes. Should I put it in the basement where it's 45-50 degrees or is it's...

    Brewer's Best Porter- 4'ish gallons

That works for me. I guess I will add a little water to it tonight. Thanks for the tip(s).

    Brewer's Best Porter- 4'ish gallons

For some reason- I figured adding water in the middle of fermintation would be a bad idea since I wouldn't have a good way to stir it w/o aerating it too much? If not- I will boil a little water tonight, cool it, and siphon it in there and call it good. My thinking on adding the additional 1/2...

    Brewer's Best Porter- 4'ish gallons

I brewed the above beer Saturday afternoon eventually it's going to get bourbon soaked oak in the secondary. I was in a hurry to get finished up because I had someplace I needed to be. I brewed, chilled, and transfered as I always do. By Sunday morning at about 5am when I got up- I already had...

    Look at what SWMBO bought

It's nothing like the brew house you are working on- but it will due and it will keep the light off of my carboys. :D
