    Transferred an Old Ale from the conical to a carboy to cold-crash. That English yeast gets goopy..!

    Beer that tasted not so good but 1 month later is delicious

    Early on, my first Hefeweizen was bottle carbed. After two weeks, it was carbonated but smelled like a wet dog and tasted awful. Forgives if dump it when I needed the bottles. Tried one a few weeks later and it was perfect.! Another lesson in patience.

    What I did for beer today

    Transferred a Münich Dunkel to a keg to carb. Transferred a Doppelbock to a secondary to lager. Primed and bottled a Hefeweizen. Cleaned the carboys and put some bottles in hot Oxyclean solution to soak for a bit.

    Matilda and I brewed a Hefeweizen today. She got a scoop of warm, spent grains in her belly and conked out during the boil.

    Just dumped a pile of steaming grains in the run … it’ll be gone by morning…

    Looks like quite a flow from the photo but there’s a tube coming off of the mash tun spigot. There is but a slow but steady stream of sweet maltyness oozing out the end.!

    Brewed a doppelbock. Using the yeast cake from a Münich Dunkel to ferment then it’s going to lager/cellar until the fall.

    I transfer the spent grains to a 5 gallon bucket then walk them out back to the coop. Just shake them out around the coop and the birds pounce on them..!

    Bottle Carbing a Sour

    I have a couple sours that’ll be ready to bottle soon. Does anyone have a suggestion for a yeast strain that can function in the harsh, low pH of a sour?
