    Ready in time?

I don't have what I need to cold crash. It's a pretty big beer exchange with about 50 or so people so the least that I can bring is a case. The good thing is that no one will be drinking the beer that night, which gives it an extra night of conditioning. It's at the target gravity so is there...

    Ready in time?

Started a pumpkin ale on 10/30, fermentation went very fast and was at the target gravity and racked to secondary in 10 days (11/9) The dilemma I'm in now is they just announced a microbrew beer exchange at work on 11/23. I would love to throw my beer into the mix but I don't want to if it's...

    Fermentation done after 1 day?

Took a shot at a pumpkin ale on Saturday. 1.5lbs of dme, 3.5 lbs of lme, 2lbs of specialty grains and spices. I boiled about 5lbs of pumpkin cubes for about 30 minutes in 1 gallon of water and used that water to steep the grains. I'm not sure if that was a good idea or a great idea. I used a...

What will become of this mess?

What will become of this mess?

Yes. As much gunk as I could avoid siphoning up is now chilling in the weeds behind my house.

What will become of this mess?

Started a Honey Weizen kit from Northern Brewer on 4/25. The first issue I had was about 28 hours later the fermentation went insane. I used a Wyeast 1010 for the first time so I'm not sure if that made the difference. Anyways, wife called me at work to tell me the fermentor was hissing and the...

    6gallon kit into a 5 gallon carboy

Seems like a ambitious endeavor for your first brew. What temp are you fermenting (or not fermenting) at? Lager requires colder fermentation temperatures than ales. If you are above 60F that may be why you are not seeing any activity..

How many buckets do I need?

I'm new to the beer brewing world but I have been doing lots of reading and suprised myself with a couple better than expected MR. Beer kits (I know how most feel about MB but it is a great confidence builder). I'm slowly gathering the equipment I need to take the next step to making 5...
