    Floatys in beer. Help

I did taste it and it tastes amazing. The floatys are just new to me, never have seen them in any of my previous batches. Maybe I sucked up too much of the residual at the bottom, I only left maybe 1/2 a beer left at the bottom. I also got a little impatient during the transfer since my siphon...

    Floatys in beer. Help

this is my second batch through my keg system. I did let it sit for 3 months still in fridge with an almost kicked keg. I would have thought that approx 20 gallons of liquids (pbw, water, starsan) through them would most surely clean anything out that was in there. But that is what is...

    Floatys in beer. Help

I have let the beer stand for a 1/2 hour and the flakes have all settled to the bottom of the glass. The beer tastes phenomenal, but thats enough floatys for me to question the beer. I've made several batches of brew and have never experienced this

    Floatys in beer. Help

I have been through so much for this beer and my heart hit the ground when I poured my first beer out of my keg and saw all these white floatys. I have througly cleaned my keg twice. When I was running my starsan solution through my lines I was noticing all these floatys in the solution...

    Cleaning keg lines = flakes?

I'm cleaning my keg lines before I put in my second beer into keg. the keg had sat for a couple months nearly kicked before washing it out. I gave it a nice long (4 days) soak of PBW and ran solution through lines. I rinsed out the keg several times. Visual inspection looked good so ran...

well after several emails to the makers of the regulator company and it turns out it wasn't the regulator at all, it was the check valve. It is not letting anything pass through it

    Regulator probelm need advice

Ok so I went to clean my lines and put my new beer in the keg but when I turned on the co2 I got no sound what so ever. Odd. My psi gauge goes up but no co2 transferring through. I was hoping something was frozen and jamming up the works but it's been sitting out for 6 hours now. Still...

New brewer questions about fist brew ever

To clarify I steeped my grains at about 155ish for 30 min while storing the wort occasionally. It took 20 min to cool to 78. I then dumped through a large funnel with screen into the carboy. (had to stir inside the funnel towards he end of the dump to empty it into the carboy). This i feel let...

New brewer questions about fist brew ever

So your first beer is done, congrats. My replies are in bold above. I'd dare say that will be your hardest brew. Now you've been there and seen the whole process, the next times will be so much simpler.

    Star Island Single clone?

Anyone have a recipe for Smuttynose's Star Island Single. AG or extract, I can convert in Beersmith. I've been trying to look very hard for the last several days with no success. I would really appreciate some help with this one.

    Smuttynose Star Island Single

Can anyone help me deconstruct this beer. A good friend of mine wants to brew this beer as his first beer but I cannot find a recipe at all. Thank you in advance

    Odd keg line leak

I just read a post on another forum, and it recommended to the poster to check to see if post was cross-threaded. I'm force carbonating the keg (48 hours at 30psi), I'm going to let it go the 48 hours, and then removing the post and putting it back on. Is this going to mess up the carbonation...

    Odd keg line leak

It is my first time hooking up my kegging equipment, and really no problems until I put the cleaning liquid, and then again later with my beer. I was getting a lot of my cleaning liquid coming out of what looked to be my threaded connection, but I tightened down the clamp and it seemed to stop...
