Macintosh apples. Yeah I mean I'd like to make something that tastes good...not just make something to make it.

    Help...tons of apples and raisins

I have a ton of apples and raisins at my disposal, and was curious if anyone had any good ideas on how I could turn these into alcohol. I was thinking I could purée the raisins and apples, add water, yeast, and call it a day. Would this work? Is it worth it? Any ideas would be more than appreciated.

    Belgian Dubbel Belgian Abbey Ale

I'm pulling a bit banana, but I fermented at a lower temp and have only conditioned for a weekish.

    Belgian Dubbel Belgian Abbey Ale

So I Brewer this, and absolutely love it. It has been bottled for a bit over a week, and gives me that distinct Belgian blonde/gold taste and feel. Well done! I'm gonna brew it again, and possibly add some additions such as orange, coriander, etc. great base recipe!

    Small Batch all grain kits

I agree...BIAB. I'm unsure with what you are asking, but why not just take a conventional 5 gallon recipe and scale it down to make the batch size you desire?

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Hey man, Recipe looks awesome! I'll brew this within the next month. My question (sorry if I sound like a newb) is: why is the batch for a 5 gallon listed at a batch size of 5.5 gallon and a 10 gallon listed at 11 gallon? Is this to counter act the yeast trub? If I'm doing a 2.5 gallon...

Brewing all grain with 5 gallon pot

Just do 2.5 gallon BIAB. More opportunity to brew and experiment and super easy.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

After being over seas for 2 months, my last brew day was in May. I can gladly say I am brewing today/tonight. Couldn't be happier. Brewing up a spiced winter ale. My first BIAB.

    NB Spiced winter ale suggestions

Making this today. Following the recipe directly, I will update in about six weeks when I taste the final product. I did not use their spice mix, instead I got a bottle from whole foods (went to the LHBS to get my malts instead of ordering kit). Fingers crossed for a good turn out!

    Thundercookie Gingerbread Stout

This caught my eye! Drinkable in 6 weeks, with an ABV of 8.1% (big beers wooo) sounds awesome! Be sure to update on how this turned out.

Brewing consistency and a newbie brewer.

I'm in the same boat. This November will mark my one year anniversary as a home brewer, with about 8-10 brews under my belt. I'm planning on brewing this upcoming Monday, and it's looking like it will be my first ever re-brew, a simple stout. I'm curious to hear others responses.

    Has anyone seen this?

Looks like it comes out in fall 2015, so I'll be on the look out. Sounds intriguing and delicious to me!
