Thanks for the info. Is the silicone gasket ok to put on the inside as well as the outside? I've been looking at some YouTube videos also on manifolds. I think I'm going to price copper tubing tomorrow. I'll let you know what I come up with. Big thanks again!! 🍺
It was leaking a little bit. I got it sealed for my last batch. Pardon my ignorance, but what is a silicone washer? I have a few rubber gaskets on there now. I was actually looking to permanently seal in the 2 1/2 inch nipple to the mash tun and set up a manifold.
I have Coleman converted mash tun. I am looking to get a better design and looking to see if anyone can refer me to a food grade sealant that can go on the inside of the mash tun. Please send pictures of your mash tun or any design specs that you would like to share.

I'm going to be bottling this in a couple days, what would be better for priming...corn sugar or DME? I have both so neither is a bother. Just curious.
This is what I'm soaking my vanilla beans in with some vodka. How long do you all soak the beans? I did this yesterday and it is getting pretty dark already.
Just brewed this tonight. Bumped up the 2-row to 9 lbs. but other than that used pretty much the same recipe. I got about 5.5 gal in the primary and going to start soaking the vanilla beans after about a week. OG came out to 1.053.
Hey all! I'm in Hurst (near ft worth) and have been looking to see if any new brewers are out there near me to share ideas and recipes. I actually just posted a new thread a bit ago. Let me know if you're interested.
