    Beersmith should calculate the total water volume for you. You need to create an equipment profile to specify boil off, deadspace and other equipment losses and then it will take those numbers and give you a number that you should start with based on boil time and grain absorption.

    Water sample question

    I am sending a sample off to Ward labs. I currently use a carbon filter so I am wondering if I should send the sample of the filtered water or non-filtered water? I assume that I should send them a sample of whatever is going into my kettle?

    Easy & Cheap Stainless Vent Hood

    Thanks for the info! I'm going to try and insulate my pipes somehow. As a sidenote, I had been brewing at night when it was about 50 degrees out, but brewed this weekend during the day with temps around 70 and had no condensation.
