I wired the internal jumper for choosing Heating or Cooling mode to an external switch (120V, 5 Amp). A generous friend of mine with a laser engraving machine did a great job with the switch label. I plan to power off the controller and switch between modes because this is how it's done with moving the jumper.

One set of outlets is controlled with the A419, the other is constantly on for a fan/constant heat source. For ales, I run the controller in cooling mode with a fan and small heater (4W, 8W or 16W) inside in the winter for controlling fermenation temperatures where the basement is less than the fermenation temperature. Once active fermenation is finished it goes into heater control mode only. Lagers are cooling mode all the time except for diacetyl rest in heating mode.
