In my inventory I have:

3oz Amarillo
4oz Citra
2oz Centennial
2oz Simco

2 packets S-05

What hops to use for a 80 IBU 2x IPA? I like to use 3oz for dry hopping. Thanks for some idea's!

This sounds amazing! I use all of those hops in my IPA's as well.

Run them through a recipe builder like hopville.com to estimate the IBU contribution if you know the AA% content of each hop.

I would use 1-1.5oz Centennial @ 60 min for most of the IBU's and then use the rest of the hops in the last 15 minutes and whirlpool and dry hop with 1oz Citra, 1 oz Simcoe, 1oz Amarillo!

Do you know which you prefer from a flavor and aroma point of view? I would choose your least favorite (especially if it is high AA%) for bittering (60 minute) additions, then split the rest up to maximize your flavor and aroma. It's going to be good regardless of exactly what you choose, so RDWHAHB!

Edit. I second what KGB said. For an imperial, I would use at LEAST 10oz up to a pound or more.

Also, Citra really overpowers other hops when used in dry hop. If you like Citra then don't worry about cutting it back but I usually use less Citra than the other hops to give it a nice bouquet.

All of them. 2 oz Centennial @ 60. Spread the Citra out a bit @ 30, 5 and whirlpool. 1oz of Amarillo @ whirlpool, and dry hop the Simcoe and rest of Amarillo. Just a few ozs short of my favorite IPA. Whatever you do, those hops will make a great beer. Have fun...

Gonna use them all! Will do a 60 min 2oz, 10 min 2oz, 0 min 3oz whirlpool and dry hop 3oz. Good suggestions. Thanks! Will be starting soon.

brewed on 1/10. Got 1oz Warrior for 60 min. 1oz each Amarillo, Centennial Citra and Simcoe @10 min. Then same blend at 0 min for 15 min hop stand. Just opened up to dry hop(2/7, week 4) with 4 oz blend of same and smells fantastic before the dry hopping!
SG: 1.070
FG: 1.010 (love S-05)
ABV: 7.8%

Sould I keep this as just an IPA or 2X IPA?

Try an oz of Citra at like 10, another at whirlpool, and save 2 oz for Dry hopping imo :)

Centennial is the only hop in there I would bitter with, so I'd say use that for your major IBU component. I like 4+ oz of late hops (usually 6-8) for my IIPA, and at least 4 for dry hop, so use them all!
