On a related note-

I've heard that if your municipal water is chlorinated, you can just fill up your kettle/mash tun/whatever full water the day before you brew, and after 24 hours or so all the chlorine would evaporate out.

True/false?

The bugs absorb a lot of it. A single fruit fly is worth about -.2 ppm
 
Chlorine gas is volatile and will dissipate over time. Used to use that method with my old tropical fish tank only, rather than leave the water sit, I would fill the replacement water bucket with the spray nozzle from the sink to help flash it off. This will work to a
Certain degree but I've no idea how truly effective it is.
You could get a water chlorine test kit from a pet store and do a little experiment though.
