Paint strainer bag in boil?

Hello all, quick question. Has anyone used a nylon paint strainer bag as a hop bag in their boil? I am wondering if the nylon bag will hold up in a full boil.

Just used one the other day. Worked great and kept a lot of crud out of the kettle when I transferred it to my fermenter

Yes, it is okay Just make sure to keep it from bouncing off the bottom of the brew pot.

Always works for me. Becareful of the seams when pulling out a wet\full grain bag.

Do you all keep them stretched over the rim? Or tie them off like a hop sack? If stretched, do you weight them?

I binder clip mine to the side of the kettle

I have used them for several batched. I built a hop spider to keep it off the bottom.

Why does it matter if the bag touches the bottom of the kettle?

If it comes in contact with the bottom too long you'll have holes in the bag. Learned that one real fast
