Brewed a batch of Chinook IPA the other night and primaried it right after. I checked the OG and thought it was fine. However, I re-read the instructions and saw that the OG should have been 1.050 and it was 1.060. I'm wondering how this will effect the outcome. Also, if I add some same temperature water when I secondary, will it help correct the gravity. The batch is about 4.5 gallons istead of 5 like it should be.

I always do a tad over 5 for most of my batches. I have never added water "after the fact". Not sure what that would do to the fermentation process?

Your beer will be fine just as it is although it may be just a little higher in alcohol. Just leave it as is. Nobody I've talked to likes watered down beer.
