Default green apple smell

ive got a fantastic pale ale that has become stinky with green apple smell. i have been told this is probably due to acetaldyhyde as an intermediate part of the fermentation process; after six days the smell is diminished, but is still there. What the f@*#!

May 09 07UPDATE:
The beer smells and tastes fine! there is no noticeable apple taste or flavor

Congradualtions, you made Budweiser ale!!

The green apple character is normally a property of the yeast strain. In some beers it is a desired character at low levels, like Bud. If you do not like it, consider using a different yeast strain next time.
