I just finished my first batch and due to family emergency it had to be brewed at in laws home. I found a closet that will remain at the proper temperature for the fermentation process. This closet is never open but it does have expensive jackets in it. Will my beer give off any gases or smells that would attach themselves to the clothing and make them Smell? I would hate to ruin their coats or have to pay to dry clean them.

No. But if you get a blow out, you may have beer all over the jackets.
